Who We Are

The Links, Incorporated The Links, Incorporated is an international, not-for-profit corporation established in 1946. The membership consists of more than 17,000 professional women of African descent in 299 chapters in 41 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and the United Kingdom. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry. Members of The Links, Incorporated contribute more than 1 million documented hours of community service annually — strengthening their communities and enhancing the nation. The Shelby County (TN) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is also part of The Central Area of the Links, Incorporated. The Shelby County (TN) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is comprised of visionary leaders and gifted volunteers who are committed to community service through the facets of Services to Youth, Health and Human Services, the Arts, National Trends and Services, and International Trends and Services. This remarkable group of women serve this community as role models, mentors, and activists who vigilantly work to ensure that the name “Links” represents not only a chain of friendship, but also a chain of dedicated service. This award-winning Chapter proudly celebrates 40 years of making a positive impact within our communities.

The Shelby County (TN) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is committed to helping our communities heal, learn and thrive through our collective focus on service and friendship. To achieve our goals, we will link our talents, strengths and passion in support of local, national and international outreach programs that will help improve lives.
