Services to Youth

The Services to Youth facet provides services through our long-standing program, The Leadership Academy. The mission of the Academy is to further develop young African American men who have the capacity to be critical thinkers, culturally grounded, and purpose driven in their pursuit of successful careers.  The barbershop series and the legislative retreat are a few of the many experiences that help enrich the lives of these top talent young men in our program.  The Orita Rites of Passage, the culminating ceremony, is an African tradition theme “Orita” crossroads ritual. This ceremony prepares young men for adulthood with biblical life skills and management through workshops conducted by professional male role models, providing their influence and excellence. These young men are our hope. Our pride. Our future.

A Mother’s Brunch and Father and Son Luncheon is held in honor of the parents of each Beaux and formally hosted by the women of Shelby County (TN) Chapter.  It’s a time for parents to celebrate their achievements!

The Beautillion Experience (formerly known as Le’ Beautillion Militaire) presentation began in 1987 as a black-tie, community recognition affair that also highlights the pride and responsibility of transition to manhood.
