The Arts

Shelby County (TN) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated, is an adopt- a-school sponsor for Double Tree Elementary. Our members mentor and train on proper etiquette through volunteering with the “The Grace Club”. The Grace Club focuses on etiquette lessons and embraces the motto: “Girls Reaching and Aspiring Confidence and Excellence”. Students learn walking and sitting with excellent posture, speaking, making good eye contact, and the importance of first impressions. We mentor and train young girls on culture, class, and confidence.

The Arts facet’s Grace program also included hands-on activities such as jewelry-making and gardening.

As part of the Arts facet, the Shelby County Links created a Black History brochure which included African American inventors and photos of the school children dressed as history-makers.
